Sandhill Cranes at their gathering place along their migration route in Northern Indiana. Jasper Pulaski FWA.
My interest in photography began at a very young age when my parents presented me with my first camera and entrusted me with documenting family outings and vacations. I was fascinated with the ability to capture a moment in time to relive whenever I chose. That camera also opened my eyes to the spectacular beauty and wonders of the natural world. In nature, I have found a place where I can be calm and peaceful and still. I strive to capture and preserve that beauty and convey nature's calming effects on the soul in my photographs. Thank you for visiting!

I am enjoying your bird photos. One time we were north of Odessa, TX, during some really high winds. A entire flock of sandhill cranes were grounded and hiding out from the wind behind a large and long pile of dirt. Every time I exposed my self to take a shot, they would fly up in the air, but would land again due to the wind. I actually crawled so I could get closer. Seeing so many at once is really a treat. Nice shot. There is a small (numbers ?) flock that winter on Galveston Island, TX. I never could get close enough to them with my old camera to get any good shots though. Ro

Roena aren't they interesting to watch in flocks? I live close to a migration stop in Indiana so I visit there whenever I can. Sometimes there are over 10,000 birds at a given time. So beautiful. Thanks again.

I did notice Shari and was going to ask. Very cool capture.

Wow Shari, that is a lot of sandhills in one image. Well done.
Shari Jardina replied:
Thank you! (Did you notice the deer in the background too?) :)
